Demi Lovato attended Women’s March Los Angeles this Saturday. At the event, the singer-actress stumbled upon U2’s guitarist The Edge (real name David Howell Evans), took a snap with the musician and posted it on social media to convey a strong message about solidarity.

On Saturday, Lovato confirmed the speculations that she’s joining Women’s March following her volunteer work in Kenya. The “Cool for the Summer” songstress took to Instagram to reveal her attendance at the Los Angeles event. It appears that the former Disney child actress wasn’t able to make it to the Washington counterpart of the gathering. Earlier this week, she actually promoted the Women’s March that was scheduled to take place in Washington.

In a post featuring an infographic of the female gender and clenched fist symbols, Lovato voiced out the reason for the simultaneous marches all over the country. According to her, the march was a movement to show that women are also entitled to equal human rights. The “Stone Cold” hitmaker pointed out how “gender equality, education, equal pay, reproductive rights, freedom from sexual assaults” and many more should be given to women who are also human beings.

Aside from reiterating the goal of Women’s March on her Instagram account, Lovato also used the photo-sharing site as a platform to encourage the solidarity between men and women. She did this by posting a snap she took with U2’s The Edge, who was also among the many male attendees of the event. Lovato emphasized in her post that they “stand in solidarity” in echoing to the world that “women’s rights are human rights.”

Lovato’s appearance at Women’s March LA comes days after the 24-year-old singer made headlines for spending time with her new boyfriend, MMA pro fighter Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos. The new couple was spotted at The Belasco Theater in Los Angeles to watch DNCE, according to MTV. Lovato dated the band’s lead vocalist Joe Jonas several years ago. Clearly, Lovato has long moved on from her ex.

Speaking of exes, Vasconcelos is Lovato’s newest boyfriend after her recent split from UFC fighter Luke Rockhold. Lovato and Rockhold broke up last Devember after dating for a short time. The reason behind the split between the two was not disclosed.
