Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore visited a Beverly Hills home for counseling last weekend, making a last ditch attempt to save their marriage even as Kutcher tried to woo Demi back with a $100,000 car as her birthday gift.

The couple, who announced an end to their marriage last Tuesday, arrived separately at the 'Kabbalah House' and went through a one-hour counseling to lift them out of depression, according to reports. However, it didn't seem to work out as both of them came out looking dismal and distant.

Kutcher, 33, is hoping he and Moore can get back together again. He had picked up a 2012 Lexus LS 600h hybrid-engine car just two days before November 11 - Demi's 49th birthday - and a week before Demi's divorce announcement.

The eco-friendly car is worth over $100,000, but for Demi, it wasn't enough to stop her from announcing their split.

As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life, Demi said in her announcement, implying Kutcher's infidelity.

She added that she made the decision to leave Kutcher with a great sadness and a heavy heart.

Kutcher allegedly had sex with Sara Leal, 22, at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego on his and Demi's sixth wedding anniversary this September, Vancouversun.com reported.

This is not the first time Kutcher had cheated on Demi. Last year Brittney Jones claimed Kutcher had sex with her.

Meanwhile, a psychoanalyst Fran Cohen Praver has tried to figure out Kutcher and Demi's marriage from their backgrounds.

Their marriage was doomed from the start. They came together out of weakness, he said to Vancouversun.com.

Kutcher's cheating ways were regarded as act out his adolescence, his fraternal twin brother has a mild case of cerebral palsy and had heart problems, and Ashton was intent on helping out, Praver explained.

The older Demi might be a solid mother figure to Kutcher, because his parents divorced when he was a teenager, according to Praver.

Similarly, Demi has an unstable background, Both parents were alcoholics, and they moved 40 times.

She didn't marry an alcoholic, but she married a cheater, which is the same thing. So both (Kutcher and Demi) never really resolved their pasts. Two halves don't make a whole; both people (in a marriage) have to be strong and independent, Praver pointed out.
