Monday, the Statistics Denmark announced that the consumer price index or CPI rose 1.4% year-over-year in April, slower than the 1.8% increase in the previous month.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices increased 0.8% on an annual basis in April, while clothing and footwear prices grew 1.1%. Transport charges dropped 2.3%.

On a monthly basis, the CPI declined 0.1% in April, in contrast to a 0.3% increase in the preceding month.

The harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP rose 1.1% year-on-year in April, slower than the 1.6% increase in the previous month. The HICP was down 0.1% compared to the prior month.

Meanwhile, the net price index increased 2.2% annually in April, compared with a 2.5% rise seen in the previous month.
