Thursday, a report by Statistics Denmark said the jobless rate increased to a seasonally adjusted 2.5% in February from 2.3% in the previous month. The jobless rate matched economists' expectations.

On an unadjusted basis, the jobless rate increased to 2.8% in February from 2.1% in the previous year.

The number of unemployed persons totaled a seasonally adjusted 69,800 in February, up from 64,300 in January.

In February, the jobless rate for men increased to 2.8% from 2.5%, while it remained stable at 2% for women. Among the age groups, the jobless rate was highest for 25-29 year olds, at 3.5%. On the other hand, the lowest rate was for the 60-64 year olds, at 1.5%.
