Dennis Rodman, the unlikely best friend of Kim Jong-Un, is planning to return to North Korea on Aug. 1, and the NBA legend politely said President Barack Obama can’t do anything about it.

Rodman, also known as the Worm, first made the trip to North Korea as part of a journalistic endeavor captured by the Vice magazine crew for a new series that is currently airing on HBO. The Hall of Famer and North Korea’s leader hit it off and became instant friends.

Rodman’s return to North Korea, for pleasure, has been met with controversy, but the Worm says there is nothing anybody, not even Obama, can do about it. Speaking to TMZ, Rodman said, “We got a black president [who] can't even go talk to [Kim Jong-un]. ... Obama can't do s--t; I don't know why he won't go talk to him.”

Rodman continued to eloquently present his feelings toward Obama, including a choice expletive, in the brief conversation with TMZ.

Kim has been known to be a bit of a basketball geek, with schoolmates saying he showed off pictures of himself with Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant and Toni Kukoc of the Chicago Bulls, so it makes sense that he now calls Rodman a friend.

Rodman’s unofficial status of American diplomat to North Korea has sparked plenty of controversy. When news of Rodman’s status with the leader was first announced, some believed he was working as an FBI informant and the August trip was an attempt to gather new intelligence rather than to “hang out” with his buddy.

Rodman’s also taken his friendship with Kim pretty seriously. On Twitter, Rodman asked the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to “do me a solid” and free Kenneth Bae, an American citizen who was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor.

As Rodman’s trip to North Korea approaches, expect to hear more from the Worm.
