A representative of Denzel Washington has denied reports that the actor’s 30-year marriage to wife Pauletta Pearson would end in divorce. This week, Radar Online reported that several photographs allegedly showing the actor kissing another woman were being shopped around to various media outlets. After the news broke, Star magazine published a story saying that Pearson and the Oscar-winning actor were on the verge of divorce. “She [Pearson] moved to New York to contemplate if she’s ready to end the marriage for good,” the story reads.

In response, a representative of Washington told Gossip Cop the rumor of a divorce was completely unfounded. “They are not divorcing, not separating,” the rep said.

The news comes on the heels of a profile of the couple in the August issue of Ebony magazine, as the Huffington Post pointed out. In the article, the actor and his wife touched on their marriage. “There’s no magical mystery to [staying together] ... We go through up and downs like any couple,” Washington told Ebony.

“I live with this man. I see the down part. I see the sad part. I see every part. He has and knows he has that stability in me as his wife. That’s gives him strength, regardless of if he misuses it. I can’t dwell on that. But I do know that gives him a great platform to go and fly,” Pearson said.

This isn’t the first time that reports of infidelity have swelled around the couple. According to the Huffington Post, Washington and “Out of Time” co-star Sanaa Lathan were rumored to have had an affair. The actress denied the accusations in an interview with Vibe Magazine. “[The rumor] got started because the movie had a love scene with Denzel, and people took that and translated it to real life,” Lathan said. “They said I was pregnant with Denzel’s child, and people were calling my mother, saying I’m having his baby. It’s frustrating. People are going to talk no matter what.”
