Getting itself back into the iPhone 5 news cycle, T-Mobile's parent company Deutsche Telekom has announced that it will start taking pre-orders for Apple's successor model to the iPhone 4.

In a telephonic interview with Bloomberg, Deutsche Telekom' spokesman Alexander von Schmettow said people, who expressly request for the iPhone 5 will get coupons. However, the operator won't provide the name or release details of the device.

The pre-order move is being made by the operator in anticipation of supply bottlenecks, Schmettow added.

Following the Bloomberg report, speculation is rife whether DT's iPhone 5 pre-order announcement also indicates that T-Mobile in U.S. will also get the iPhone 5. According to a SlashGear report, it would seem that the hotly anticipated smartphone is likely to get pre-orders at all the T-Mobile branches worldwide, including the U.S. It's assumed so because the pre-order move is attributed to the parent company itself, rather than any specific T-Mobile branch, such as T-Mobile UK.

But one thing that makes a clear distinction between the U.S. and other T-Mobile branches in the world is that unlike other branches, T-Mobile U.S. doesn't currently carry the iPhone, and the offer is most likely to get extended to the T-Mobile branches that already carry it, according to a report, published in iphone5newsblog. Apple, however, has not said anything official to confirm the speculation.

Meanwhile, the DT Web site has not yet carried any information regarding the iPhone 5 pre-order offer. There is no mention about the iPhone 5 coming to T-Mobile U.S. as well.

Deutsche Telekom has made the smart move at a time when various reports are pointing to an October release of the iPhone 5.

According to a leaked document received by Boy Genius Report from Best Buy, Apple will launch the next-generation phone in the first week of October. The leaked note to employees also mentioned that Sprint will be offering iPhone 5 at launch, thus, becoming the third carrier in the U.S. after Verizon and AT&T to offer the new phone, according to recent rumors.

Thanks to a leaked document from a Best Buy source, we have discovered that Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores are anticipating taking preorders for the iPhone 5 starting in the first week of October, the BGR report said.

On the other hand, tech site This is my next is betting on another date. It reported on Sunday that Best Buy is scheduled to have an Apple fixture installed on Friday, Oct. 21.

To be clear, this isn't a run-of-the-mill installation for the big box -- our tipster tells us that the request that a manager be on-hand at 6AM is out of the ordinary (they usually show up at 7AM for inventory), and that a similar arrangement was scheduled for the iPhone 4 launch, the report said.

The report further said that Best Buy Mobile managers have a meeting scheduled for Oct. 10 to discuss upcoming BIG release dates.

All these chitchat has just increased the fever pitch of iPhone 5 excitement. Despite the rumors, it's quite possible that Apple will exploit the growing fever and come up with an announcement date that will ultimately flout all of the most plausible announcement rumors.
