Devious Maids Season 2 spoilers
What will happen in episode 10 of "Devious Maids"? Lifetime/Devious Maids

“Devious Maids” Season 2 may be almost over, but the hit Lifetime series still has a lot of drama to unfold. Episode 10, "Long Day's Journey Into Night," will air on Sunday, June 22, and we've got the scoop on what you can expect.

According to the synopsis for episode 10, fans can look forward to:

“Nicholas to reveal a shocking secret while in a pill-induced haze; Rosie will want to save Kenneth; Zoila forces Genevieve to face her mother; Valentina will ask Remi to help Ethan and Spence gets some bad news.”

Will Nicholas finally admit his shady past to Marisol? Last we heard, the millionare was an alleged murderer -- and that’s a storyline we’re sure fans are dying to see played out.

But the airing of Nicholas’ dirty laundry might take longer than you think. At least, that’s what we can theorize based off of the Eugene O’Neill’s 1956 play. If you haven’t noticed, the show’s creator Marc Cherry has opted for a specific theme this season: to attribute every episode to a well-known play. And in O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize drama, the action lasts from 8:30 a.m. to midnight, which means fans can expect the thrills in “Devious Maids” to shock you until the very last second.

Curious as to what O’Neill’s play is about? Well, the story takes place at the seaside of a Connecticut home in August 1912:

One of the play’s themes is addiction, which is one of the reasons for the Tyrone family’s dysfunction. All three males (James, Jamie and Edmund) in the play are alcoholics while Mary is a morphine addict. According to the story, she has struggled with the addiction for the past two decades and always returns to the drug when she spends time with her family. But Mary isn’t the only one who has a difficult and regrettable past. Her husband and two sons have their backstories explained of why they’ve turned to the bottle.

The drama continues until the very last line of the play, which is why fans should prepare for a jaw-dropping of an ending in episode 10. What storyline do you think Cherry had in mind when he picked “Long Day’s Journey Into Night” to be the skeleton for episode 10? We’ve predicted that Nicholas will be playing the male version of Mary, who will have the truth escape from his lips after his medicated haze.
