Better break out the mop and bucket, “Devious Maids” fans, because there’s a whole new mess of drama that will need to be cleaned up in Season 4 of the hit Lifetime series. Fans of the Marc Cherry series were given a look at the coming chaos when the network released a new promo video for the series.

The trailer kicks off on a very meta note, with Marisol (Ana Ortiz) revealing to her cast — which is made up of Peri (Mariana Klaveno) and Eva Longoria (who is portraying herself) — that the film they’re making is about “Latina empowerment.”

“Do all the maids have to be Latina?” Longoria asks. “Seems kinda racist.”

In 2013, Longoria, who acts as an executive producer on the series, defended the series after some critics stated that they felt the characters were a stereotypical portrayal of Latinas.

“I take pride in the fact that these characters are not one dimensional or limited to their job title,” she responded to the backlash during an interview with the Huffington Post. “As the minority becomes the majority and the United States becomes more diverse, it is important that the protagonists on television embody this diversity."

Longoria mimics those who criticized the show through the new promo video, which then goes on to tease that the new big bad of Beverly Hills will be a killer one. According to the trailer, the maids will be forced to solve a new murder case when an innocent man is charged with the crime.

“They’ve got the wrong guy,” Rosie (Dania Ramirez) says to her gal pals over coffee.

“Who’s the real killer?” Marisol asks — the unofficial question of Season 4.

Who do you think will meet their demise in the new installment of “Devious Maids”? Find out when the hit Lifetime series airs its Season 4 premiere Monday, June 6, at 9 p.m. EDT.
