“Stranger Things” star Shannon Purser recently opened up about her sexuality via a series of tweets.

On Tuesday, the actress, who plays the role of Barb in the hit Netflix original series, admitted that she’s developed anxiety about her sexuality. Even though the actress did not exactly say whether or not she’s a lesbian or bisexual, Purser said that she wishes she got comfortable with her sexuality much sooner.

Purser first gained fame when she starred in “Stranger Things.” Since then, she has received countless projects on TV and the big screen. The actress currently plays the role of Ethel in The CW’s “Riverdale” Season 1. In the series, Ethel took center stage in last week’s episode after Veronica (Camila Mendes) tried to make amends with her on behalf of her dad.

Meanwhile, Purser will also star opposite Melissa McCarthy in the upcoming movie, “Life of the Party.” The film is co-written by McCarthy and her husband, Ben Falcone. She will also star in the fantasy film, “Wish Upon,” where she will play the role of June.

According to People, the 19-year-old actress has also met up with top casting directors in Hollywood, as well as with executives of various television networks. While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Purser’s manager, Matt Shelton of LINK Entertainment, gushed over his talent and expressed his excitement over all of the blessings coming the actress’ way.

“It’s been a whirlwind of an experience to have such a high level of excitement surrounding Shannon, and the types of meetings and projects coming her way. It’s a true testament to the layers and nuance she was able to build into character to help it resonate with the audience the way it has, and of course, a little luck,” he said.
