Spanish sixth seed David Ferrer proceeded after downing India's Somdev Devvarman with a 6-4 6-2 win and will take on Marcel Granollers in the next round after the Spaniard battled past 23 seed Michael Llodra of France 7-5 3-6 7-5 in a two-and-a-half hours encounter.
