“Doctor Who” will return for Season 8 on Aug. 23, and fans can expect a slew of guest stars to join Peter Capaldi and Jenna Louise Coleman on the TARDIS. Here is just a taste of which actors will be visiting during Peter Capaldi’s first season.

Keeley Doctor Who

Keeley Hawes will portray Ms. Delphox, an alien that the Doctor and Clara meet early in the season. “It feels like a big show because it is so well known and people love it so much,” Hawes told The Independent, “There’s a big old Who fanbase out there, so you’ve got all that pressure. I hope people enjoy my episode – it’s really good fun.”

Tom Riley will guest star in Season 8 episode 3. No details have been confirmed, but Riley might be playing Robin Hood in an episode called “Robots of Sherwood,” according to Blastr.

Sam Doctor Who

Samuel Anderson will be playing Danny Pink, a teacher who works with Clara. Not many details have been revealed, but according to the BBC, showrunner Steven Moffat said, “‘For the fourth time in 'Doctor Who' history, Coal Hill School is coming to the aid of the TARDIS. In 1963 teachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright accompanied the First Doctor. These days it’s the turn of Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald. And very soon now, Sam Anderson as Danny Pink will be entering the world of the Doctor. But how and why? Answers are coming later this year in Peter Capaldi’s first series of ‘Doctor Who’!”

Foxes is a British musician best known for her voice on Zedd’s “Clarity,” but the singer will take her first acting role on “Doctor Who” Season 8. Foxes wasn’t able to say much about her role and wouldn’t confirm if her character was even human. “I'm not playing a villain. I think I'm nice in the show,” she told Digital Spy.

Neve Doctor Who

Neve McIntosh will be returning to her role as Madame Vastra. Her girlfriend Jenni and their Sontaran friend Strax will join Madame Vastra in an episode early in the season, according to Yahoo! UK.

Frank Skinner will guest star in the season premiere, but no details have been released about his character. Skinner is a big “Doctor Who” fan. Coleman described his fanboy experience on set. “We’d do scenes between me and Peter and then you’d often just see Frank basically soaking it all up and just really, really enjoying being on the TARDIS and the whole experience,” Coleman told Entertainment Weekly. “It was funny to have a proper, proper fan who really does know everything about Doctor Who’ folklore.”

Hermione Norris will join “Doctor Who” Season 8 as some sort of nurse. Moffat told Digital Spy that he was thrilled to have Norris guest star and added, “"And for the first time since 1984, the Doctor Who production team is heading to Lanzarote. The Doctor is returning to the scene of an old adventure -- but there have been sinister changes since his last visit."

Ben Miller will also join Season 8 as a villain. Moffat said very little in a press release about Miller’s role: “Mark Gatiss has written us a storming villain for his new episode, and with Capaldi in the TARDIS, we knew we needed somebody special to send everybody behind the sofa. And quite frankly, it’s about time Ben Miller was in ‘Doctor Who’!”
