The Houston Astros are just a win away from capturing their first World Series. Veteran star Justin Verlander will be on the mound at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night in Game 6 with the Astros leading the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 in the best-of-seven series.

Verlander has been sharp in the postseason, boasting a 2.05 ERA over 30 and two-third innings. In his only World Series appearance, Verlander allowed two hits over six innings but one hit was a solo home run and the other was a two-run shot. The former Detroit Tigers' ace will be pitching on five days rest against a Dodgers lineup that has averaged six runs a game and has scored at least two runs a game in the postseason.

"These are the moments that you want to be a part of as a baseball player," the 34-year-old said. "It's everything you could ask for. It's either win it to stay alive or win it to win it all. Either way, it's going to be pretty intense."

On the mound for the Dodgers will be Rich Hill. The southpaw has a 2.77 ERA in the postseason, and although his only outing against the Astros lasted just four innings, Hill struck out seven and allowed just one run. The 37-year-old sounded ready for the challenge when asked about pitching in an elimination game.

"It's something that all of us have been preparing our entire careers for," Hill said.

The two teams may still be a bit razzled by Sunday's wild Game 5 in which the Astros prevailed, 13-12. Fourteen total pitchers were used, prompting questions about fatigue entering the trip back to Los Angeles.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will look for more help from some of his top hitters. Justin Turner has just two hits in his last 17 at-bats. Cody Bellinger went hitless through the first three games but has four hits in his last nine at-bats.
