Meghan Markle has made plenty of adjustments to living as a royal, but she is reportedly having a bit of trouble living with bodyguards. The former actress might miss her independence.

As previously reported, Markle is losing another staff member, this time in the form of a female bodyguard, who remains unnamed for security reasons.

According to Radar Online, a source indicated that the bodyguard was concerned Meghan wanted to be “one of the people.” Adjusting to having guards follow her every time she leaves her home — whether it be Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace or her temporary farmhouse in the Cotswolds — is difficult.

“She can’t go anywhere without her protection team and that’s a massive constraining force on an individual like her,” the source added.

Meghan had achieved a certain level of fame while on “Suits,” but she still was able to retain her anonymity. Paparazzi didn’t stalk her, and she could go about her daily life without much fuss. That has certainly changed, but it isn’t something Prince Harry can relate to. Her husband has always had a protection team.

“Unlike someone who has grown up in the royal family and has been used to having close protection from an early age, it can be quite constraining,” the source emphasized.

The former actress might be dealing with more guards than usual as well. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly increased security late last year after three men were arrested for allegedly being part of a Neo-Nazi group targeting Prince Harry for marrying Meghan, who is biracial. The royals are said to be taking extra precautions throughout the Duchess’ pregnancy.
