Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom split in October after six years together, and a possible reason has been revealed. According to reports, the actor’s drinking became an issue for Kerr and put a strain on their relationship.

A source tells RadarOnline that Bloom would “black out” after drinking and “become someone else.” A blackout impairs long-term memory creation and causes a complete inability to recall the past. It was reportedly too much for Kerr to deal with. “Someone usually walks him home just to be safe, but I think the drinking was the flaw Miranda used to file the divorce,” the source revealed.

In October, their rep told E!: "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."

In December, Kerr opened up about her split from Bloom in Harper’s Bazaar Australia. The 30-year-old beauty dated the actor for three years before the pair married in 2010. They have a 2-year-old son, Flynn.

“It’s difficult for anyone to go through a separation, whether it’s on a public scale or not. It was important for us long-term to preserve our friendship and the dynamic of being loving parents to Flynn, so we dealt with everything openly and honestly,” the former Victoria’s Secret model said.

“We respect each other, and with respect comes understanding. When there’s understanding, I guess everything is a little more harmonious. We’re still very big parts of each other’s lives. There’s no reason for us to be anything but a united front. We still love and care for each other deeply.”

Kerr is now said to be dating billionaire James Packer, 46, considered the richest man in Australia. As of November 2013, Forbes magazine estimated his net worth at $7.7 billion.
