Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) announced it has opened a new office in Seoul, South Korea on Monday.

The new office will house sales, support, and business development for the digital entertainment technology company. The firm has worked with Korean companies for over 30 years, it said in a statement.

Opening the office in Seoul allows us to better support our existing customers and address new opportunities coming out of the region, said Ramzi Haidamus, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Division, Dolby.

Dolby products and technologies are used in consumer electronics and digital entertainment devices.

The new Korean office is Dolby's fifth in Asia, joining offices in Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong.
