The final reading of the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for March rose to 57.3 from February's 56.6. The dollar advanced further against most of its major counterparts following the report. As of 10:00 am ET, the dollar was worth 97.92 against the yen, 1.1461 against the franc, 1.4333 against the pound and 1.3274 against the euro.
