The dollar extended losses against the yen to hit a session low on Thursday after a survey showed factory activity growth plummeted in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region in June.

The dollar hit as low as 90.63 yen, the weakest level in more than two weeks. The pair was last at 90.72, down 0.8 percent on the day.

The euro EUR= briefly trimmed gains versus the dollar, before recovering to last trade at $1.2399, up 0.8 percent. (Editing by James Dalgleish)
