The results of the manufacturing survey of the Institute for Supply Management and the pending home sales are due out at 10:00 am ET. Economists expect the ISM index to show a reading of 36 for March. The pending home sales are likely to show a 2% decline in February.

The Commerce Department's construction spending report will also be released at 10:00 am ET. Construction spending is expected to show a 1.6% decline in February.

The greenback ticks down against the pound and leveled off against other major currencies ahead of the reports. As of 9:55 am ET, the dollar was worth 1.4336 against the pound, 98.65 versus the yen, 1.1411 against the franc and 1.3254 per euro.
