The US Commerce Department is set to release its durable goods orders report at 8:30 am ET. Economists expect a 2.5% decline in the durable goods orders for February.

The US dollar was stable against its major counterparts ahead of the report. As of 8:25 am Eastern Time, the greenback was worth 97.74 against the Japanese yen, 1.4567 against the pound, 1.13 versus the Swiss franc and 1.3485 per euro.
