Dow falls 1 percent; Boeing leads declines

The Dow industrials dropped more than 1 percent on Wednesday, with shares of Boeing Co. eading declines after the plane maker said it would delay Dreamliner deliveries.

The Dow Jones industrial average was down 144.78 points, or 1.02 percent, at 14,019.75. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 8.94 points, or 0.57 percent, at 1,556.21. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 7.01 points, or 0.25 percent, at 2,796.90.
