To stoke up interest in its upcoming “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2,” Bandai Namco Entertainment announced at Gamescom 2016 that there will be an open beta ahead of the video game’s official release this October. To add up to the hype, the Japan-based arcade game company launched a new trailer for the game that showcases its new multiplayer mode.

Though there is no scheduled date for the “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” open beta yet, players will be delighted to know that the new features of the game will be part of the upcoming beta. IGN reported that players will get the opportunity to experience the new hub, Conton City, through the open beta. Players can freely explore shops and trains and discover quests in this massive hub city.

Since players can freely explore the new hub city, Bandai has added a new system that would also enable them to look for accessories, costumes and rare items to wear and use. Perhaps these items will come in handy when players engage in the new Expert Mission multiplayer mode that pits up to six players against a major opponent.

According to Forbes, the opponents that the players will be fighting against are the Great Apes, the ultimate transformed versions of Saiyans when they are exposed to a full moon. The primarily business site even noted that the Great Apes appear to be very powerful and strong, since a single player cannot handle fighting it alone. The newly launched trailer (found below) for the game actually showcases how the multiplayer mode works.

Forbes also stated that the improvements found in “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” are made possible by the fact that the video game is going to release on PS4 and Xbox One, adding that launching the video game to previous generation consoles would only limit the functionality of the upcoming game.

Meanwhile, another thing that players should watch out for in “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” is the addition of a classic character. As per Gamespot, Majin Vegeta is the stronger and faster villainous side of Vegeta, and he is set to be part of the ruckus when the video game launches.

In addition, Gamespot has learned that players will now have the capacity to use the Final Kamehameha move by Vegito and Gogeta in the anime series. Also, going Super Saiyan 3 while using player-made characters is now possible.

“Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” is set for release on Oct. 25 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
