In a new interview, Drake opened up about his ongoing feud with Meek Mill, slamming the Philadelphia rapper over stolen rap accusations. The “Back to Back” rapper featured in this month’s cover story for Fader magazine and responded to questions about his beef with Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend.

"It was weighing heavy on me," the 28-year-old told Fader, referring to the battle with Mill, which began in July after the latter accused the Canadian rapper of using ghostwriter for his raps. "This is a discussion about music, and no one's putting forth any music?" Drake said, adding: "Nobody told you that this was a bad idea, to engage in this and not have something?"

Drake hinted that he was more bewildered about the remarks than angry. "I didn't get it. I didn't get how there was no strategy on the opposite end. I just didn't understand. I didn't understand it because that's just not how we operate," he said in the interview.

Mill and Drake’s battle erupted on July 21 after the "All Eyes on You" rapper took to Twitter and told people not to compare him with Drake because he doesn't write his own rap songs. Drake responded by releasing two diss songs, “Charged Up” and “Back to Back,” while Mill fired back with "Wanna Know."

"I need, sometimes, individuals to spark an idea so that I can take off running. I don't mind that. And those recordings -- they are what they are. And you can use your own judgment on what they mean to you," Drake said about the ghostwriting accusation. "If I have to be the vessel for this conversation to be brought up -- you know, God forbid we start talking about writing and references and who takes what from where -- I'm OK with it being me.

“It’s just, music at times can be a collaborative process, you know? Who came up with this, who came up with that -- for me, it’s like, I know that it takes me to execute every single thing that I’ve done up until this point. And I’m not ashamed,” he added.

The feud between the two intensified after some songs in Drake’s mixtape with Future, titled “What a Time to Be Alive,” allegedly took aim at the “House Party” rapper and Minaj.

However, Drake cleared the air about the row with Minaj according to Urban Islandz, which claimed he said that his song “Diamonds Dancing” was not about the “Anaconda” singer or any beef with her.

Meanwhile, Mill recently took to Instagram to preview a few tracks from his upcoming mixtape, one of which allegedly alludes to his clash with Drake.
