Drake’s new album, “More Life,” debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard albums chart.

According to Nielsen Music, the album earned 505,000 equivalent album units between its release last week until March 23. The album was dropped on March 18 and instantly broke streaming records on Apple Music and Spotify.

Billboard revealed that their top 200 chart features the most popular albums of the week in the United States alone. The ranking is based on multi-metric consumption which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums. In this case, a record of 257,000 units were driven by streaming equivalent album units. This equates to 384.8 million streams of songs from the 22-track album. After the sales for the album was tallied, it was been reported that “More Life” surpassed Drake’s 2016 album, “Views.”
