Wednesday afternoon, the Washington Nationals have finally reached a preliminary agreement with free agent Adam Dunn for a 2-year deal for an unspecified amount of money.

Dunn brings a nice powerful bat to the Nats, who've traditionally lacked for anything resembling a power hitter.

The 29-year-old slugger has hit at least 40 homers in each of the past five seasons. Dunn played in the 2002 All-Star Game and owns a career batting average of 247.

Dunn is expected to play first base for the Nationals. He will start in left field and will officially be introduced as a member of the team at Nationals Park on Thursday.
