Another haboob, or dust storm, swept across Arizona Tuesday afternoon near Phoenix, causing a multi-car accident on Interstate 10 that injured a dozen people. The dust storm prevented highway patrol officers from clearing the car crash that blocked eastbound lanes on I-10 near Picacho Park for several hours.

The crash occurred south of Phoenix at Milepost 214 at around 3:20 p.m., police reported. One woman was taken to the hospital and other injuries appeared to be minor.

The dust storm, however, was another massive cloud for Phoenix, as the storm swept into Arizona's largest city by late afternoon. Phoenix was reportedly a dusty haze at around 6 p.m. The dust storm wasn't severe enough for the National Weather Service to issue an official warning, however.

It was the fourth dust storm of the year for Arizona.

Police said nine cars and three semi-tractor trailers were invovled in the dust storm crash. Motorists travelign eastbound along the I-10 stretch had to wait in the vehicles for hours Tuesday before authorites could get the roadway clear and reopened.
