Industrial production in the Netherlands dropped 12% year-on-year in March, the Central Bureau of Statistics said Tuesday. The report said this was the fourth consecutive month that output declined by between 12% and 13%.

During the month, the biggest fall in output of 31% was in the transport industry. Moreover, output declined 4% in the food and beverages industry.

During the February to March period, industrial production slipped a seasonal and working day adjusted 1.5% compared to the December to January period.

In a separate report, the statistical office said industrial turnover dipped 20% year-on-year in March, slower than a 27% fall in February. During the month, the steepest fall in turnover of 34% was in the petroleum, chemical, rubber and plastics products industry. After adjusting for working day effects, turnover grew 4% annually in March.
