RTTNews - Friday, the Netherlands' Central Bureau of Statistics said in a report that manufacturing output dropped 13% year-on-year in May, at the same pace as in the previous month. Economists expected a fall of 12.1%.

All industries showed a decline in production annually, with the transport industry showing the steepest drop of 38%. However, the smallest fall of 2% was in the food and tobacco industry.

Separately, the statistical office said the industrial turnover was down 27% annually in May, reflecting a 25% fall in domestic turnover and a 29% drop in export turnover.

Turnover slipped in all industries. Turnover of petroleum, chemical, rubber and plastic products showed the largest drop of 39%, followed by a 35% fall in the turnover for the transport and basic metals and metal products industries. Turnover fell the least by 9% in the food and beverage industries.
