RTTNews - Friday, the Netherlands' Central Bureau of Statistics said in a report that retail sales dropped 4.8% year-on-year in the first quarter, reflecting a 5.3% drop in volume.

Retail sales declined 6.7% in non-food shops, but increased 0.2% in food and beverage stores in the first quarter. Retail sales in petrol stations were down 11.9%.

In March, retail sales dropped 6% year-on-year, slower than a revised 8.3% fall recorded in February.
