“Little Women: LA” star Terra Jolé is out of her comfort zone, but she’s growing, the reality star wrote during an exclusive blog post for People Magazine Monday. The new mother-of-two detailed her experience on Season 23 of “Dancing With the Stars” with partner Sasha Farber.

Jolé is the first little person to compete on the reality dance show—and it hasn’t been easy for her. Just weeks after having a baby, she began to prep for the hit show.

“Rehearsals have been very stressful because this is the first time Sasha and I are in a hold together. Any little person standing in frame with an average-size person is going to look different. My torso is the same size as an average person's, but my arms and legs are half the size of theirs!” she wrote. “These physical differences challenge me to make it work as a little person, but they challenge Sasha to get creative. I'm truly looking forward to performing what we have practiced all week tonight. Hopefully it will show that Sasha is a good teacher and I am a good student and that no matter the handicap, you can make it work!”

Aside from the regular jitters that come along with performing live, the cast of Season 23 had the added stress of Ryan Lochte protesters rushing the Olympic athlete after his performance last week. “I feel like the protesters delayed the evening but did not damper the competition. During a live show you never know what will happen, and it's just unfortunate that it had to happen during our premiere,” she wrote. “Not a single star – including Ryan Lochte – deserved that unfortunate interruption.”

Even though Jolé’s confidence as a dancer has been shaken, considering she’s dancing with an average sized partner, she looks forward to getting comfortable dancing with Farber. “When you're comfortable, you're confident,” the reality star wrote. “I'm dancing with an average size man, recovering from a cesarean section, and learning how to ballroom dance! None of that screams comfort!”

Season 23 “Dancing With the Stars” airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
