The “Battlefield” video game series has been a cash cow for Electronic Arts, and there’s strong evidence to suggest EA will continue to milk it for the foreseeable future. EA has registered domains for Battlefield13.com, Battlefield14.com, Battlefield15.com, Battlefield16.com, Battlefield17.com, Battlefield18.com, Battlefield19.com and Battlefield20.com.

Check out any of the above links to see for yourself. Doing so reveals that the registrant is indeed Redwood City, Calif.-based EA:

We’re not surprised to see EA register domains for "Battlefield" 13, 14, 15 and 16, but we are a little taken aback by the decision to go ahead and grab "Battlefield" 17, 18, 19 and 20. It looks like EA may be planning to keep the series alive for years to come, akin to a video game equivalent of “The Simpsons.”

How do you feel about this? Do you worry that the "Battlefield" series will be stale by then, or do you think that "Battlefield" games will still provide an entertaining experience five to seven years down the road? Sound off in the comments below.
