The company increased first quarter earnings guidance to range of 17 cents to 19 cents a share from previous forecast of 10 cents to 14 cents a share. The company also raised its revenue outlook to range of $119 million to $120 million from previous range of $107 million to $111 million. Analysts predict profit of 11 cents a share on revenue of $109.09 million.

DSW Inc. (NYSE:DSW) shares surged 13.88 percent to $41.26 in early market trading session. The company said on late Tuesday that it will acquire Retail Ventures Inc., and turn it into a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Atmel Corp. (NASDAQ:ATML) shares gained 12.35 percent to $16.46 in early market trading session after posting better-than-expected quarterly results. Adjusted profit was $119.5 million or 25 cents a share, up from $11.3 million or 2 cents a share last year. Revenue rose 33 percent to $457.8 million. Analysts had expected profit of 16 cents a share on revenue of $436.22 million.

Retail Ventures, Inc. (NYSE:RVI) shares surged 12.30 percent to $17.90 in the early market trading session after DSW Inc. announced that it will acquire its majority shareholder Retail Ventures and turn it into a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc. (NASDAQ:BECN) shares climbed 10.64 percent to $22.21 in early market trading session. The company reported first quarter net income of $0.22 per share compared to $0.17 per share in the same quarter a year-ago.

General Cable Corp. (NYSE:BGC) shares gained 10.72 percent to $44.53 in early market trading session after its fourth quarter profit quadrupled and it guided first quarter revenue above estimates.
