We are past the peak weeks of the third-quarter earnings season, but there are still some big names, including Cisco, Wal-Mart and News Corp., scheduled to report their results next week.

According to S&P Capital IQ, 423 companies in the S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) have posted third-quarter operating EPS, showing a 5.3 percent year-over-year rise. The beat rate now stands at an above-average pace of nearly 68 percent, as 286 companies exceeded analysts’ estimates, while 95 missed and 42 matched. Revenues are now projected to advance 4 percent in the third quarter.

Guidance for the fourth quarter has been provided by 80 companies. Of those, 63 are negative, 10 are positive and 7 are in line, according to S&P Capital IQ. This produces a negative-to-positive ratio of 6.3, which is higher than the 15-year average. Revenues are seen rising 3.0 percent.

We've highlighted their expected reporting dates and times, along with analysts' earnings-per-share (fully reported) and revenue estimates from Reuters, as well as the stocks' year-to-date performances.

Monday After Markets Close, or AMC:

Hologic Inc. (NASDAQ:HOLX) is a developer, manufacturer and supplier of diagnostics, medical imaging systems and surgical products for the healthcare needs of women. The company has a market capitalization of $6.01 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 fourth-quarter EPS of 4 cents on revenue of $624.50 million, compared with a loss of 29 cents a share on revenue of $600.15 million in the year-ago period. Hologic is trading at around $22.21 a share. So far this year, the stock has gained 11.0 percent.

News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA) is a diversified global media company. The company has a market capitalization of $10.07 billion. It is expected to report a loss of 1 cent a share in the first quarter of fiscal year 2014 on revenue of $2.18 billion, compared with a loss of $1.94 a share on revenue of $2.26 billion in the previous quarter. News Corp. is trading at around $17.39 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 10.1 percent.

Tuesday Before Markets Open, or BMO:

Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:ARIA) is a global oncology company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of medicines for the cancer patients. The company has a market capitalization of $420.19 million. It is expected to report a loss of 43 cents a share in the third quarter of fiscal year 2013 on revenue of $16.67 billion, compared with a loss of 32 cents a share on revenue of $90,000 in the year-ago period. Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. is trading at around $2.27 per share. So far this year, the stock has lost 88.1 percent.

D.R. Horton Inc. (NYSE:DHI) is a homebuilding company in the U.S. The company has a market capitalization of $5.99 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 fourth-quarter EPS of 40 cents on revenue of $1.79 billion, compared with a profit of 30 cents a share on revenue of $1.30 billion in the year-ago period. D.R. Horton Inc. is trading at around $18.56 a share. So far this year, the stock has lost 6.2 percent.

Dean Foods Company (NYSE:DF) is a food and beverage company. The company has a market capitalization of $1.84 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 third-quarter EPS of 13 cents on revenue of $2.19 billion, compared with a profit of 40 cents per share on revenue of $3.14 billion in the year-ago period. Dean Foods is trading at around $19.54 per share. So far this year, the stock has lost 40.9 percent.

Dendreon Corp. (NASDAQ:DNDN) is a biotechnology company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of therapeutics that may significantly improve cancer treatment options for patients. The company has a market capitalization of $387.95 million. It is expected to report a loss of 42 cents a share in the third quarter of fiscal year 2013 on revenue of $76.58 million, compared with a loss of $1.04 a share on revenue of $77.97 million in the year-ago period. Dendreon Corp. is trading at around $2.46 per share. So far this year, the stock has lost 53.5 percent.

DISH Network Corp. (NASDAQ:DISH) is a pay-television provider. The company has a market capitalization of $22.27 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 third-quarter EPS of 43 cents on revenue of $3.58 billion, compared with a loss of 35 cents per share on revenue of $3.52 billion in the year-ago period. Dish Network is trading at around $48.76 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 34.0 percent.

NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:NRG) is an integrated wholesale power generation and retail electricity company. The company has a market capitalization of $9.09 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 third-quarter EPS of 54 cents on revenue of $3.08 billion, compared with a loss of one cent per share on revenue of $2.33 billion in the year-ago period. NRG Energy is trading at around $28.16 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 22.5 percent.

Wednesday BMO:

The Progressive Corp. (NYSE:PGR) is an insurance holding company. The company has a market capitalization of $15.91 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 fourth-quarter EPS of 40 cents on revenue of $4.05 billion, compared with a profit of 41 cents a share on revenue of $3.84 billion in the year-ago period. Progressive is trading at around $26.52 a share. So far this year, the stock has gained 25.7 percent.

Wednesday AMC:

Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) designs, manufactures, and sells Internet protocol-based networking and other products related to the communications and information technology industry and provide services associated with these products and their use. The company has a market capitalization of $125.35 billion. It is expected to report FY 2014 first-quarter EPS of 41 cents on revenue of $12.36 billion, compared with EPS of 39 cents on revenue of $11.88 billion in the year-ago period. Cisco Systems Inc. is trading at around $23.28 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 18.5 percent.

NetApp Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP) is a provider of storage systems and data management solutions for information technology infrastructures. The company has a market capitalization of $13.19 billion. It is expected to report FY 2014 second-quarter EPS of 43 cents on revenue of $1.61 billion, compared with EPS of 30 cents on revenue of $1.54 billion in the year-ago period. NetApp Inc. is trading at around $38.77 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 15.6 percent.

Thursday BMO:

Kohl's Corp. (NYSE:KSS) operates family-oriented department stores that sell apparel, footwear and accessories for women, men and children; soft home products, such as sheets and pillows, and housewares. The company has a market capitalization of $12.61 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 third-quarter EPS of 87 cents on revenue of $4.55 billion, compared with EPS of 91 cents on revenue of $4.49 billion in the year-ago period. Kohl's Corp. is trading at around $58.06 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 35.1 percent.

Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE:TYC) is a global provider of diversified products. The company has a market capitalization of $16.85 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 fourth-quarter EPS of 51 cents on revenue of $2.74 billion, compared with a loss of 91 cents a share on revenue of $2.73 billion in the year-ago period. Tyco International is trading at around $36.48 a share. So far this year, the stock has gained 24.7 percent.

Viacom, Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAB) is an entertainment content company. The company has a market capitalization of $39.96 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 fourth-quarter EPS of $1.46 on revenue of $3.60 billion, compared with a profit of $1.26 a share on revenue of $3.36 billion in the year-ago period. Viacom is trading at around $83.79 a share. So far this year, the stock has gained 58.9 percent.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) operates retail stores in various formats around globally. The company has a market capitalization of $253.56 billion. It is expected to report FY 2014 third-quarter EPS of $1.13 on revenue of $116.75 billion, compared with EPS of $1.08 on revenue of $113.93 billion in the year-ago period. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is trading at around $78.16 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 14.6 percent.

Thursday AMC:

Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) is a fashion specialty retailer. The company has a market capitalization of $13.1 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 third-quarter EPS of 68 cents on revenue of $2.87 billion, compared with a profit of 71 cents per share on revenue of $2.81 billion in the year-ago period. Nordstrom is trading at around $60.51 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 13.1 percent.

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) is a measurement company providing bio-analytical and electronic measurement solutions to the communications, electronics, life sciences and chemical analysis industries. The company has a market capitalization of $16.89 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 fourth-quarter EPS of 64 cents on revenue of $1.71 billion, compared with EPS of $1.20 on revenue of $1.77 billion in the year-ago period. Agilent Technologies Inc. is trading at around $51.04 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 24.7 percent.

Applied Materials Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT) provides manufacturing equipment, services and software to the global semiconductor, flat panel display, solar photovoltaic and related industries. The company has a market capitalization of $21.55 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 fourth-quarter EPS of 18 cents on revenue of $1.99 billion, compared with a loss of 42 cents a share on revenue of $1.65 billion in the year-ago period. Applied Materials Inc. is trading at around $17.92 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 56.6 percent.
