At the peak of the second-quarter earnings season for a second week, eight companies in the Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDEXDJX:.DJI) and 156 firms in the S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) are scheduled to report earnings July 22-26.

Online social-gaming stock Zynga Inc. has had a tough ride since its December 2011 initial public offering. Other companies on deck to report in the latter part of the week include Amazon.com, Bristol-Myers Squibb, General Motors and Starbucks.
