Earnings News: Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM), The Procter & Gamble Company (PG)
The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE: PG) beat expectations as the company reported fiscal fourth quarter profit of 79 cents per share, down from 82 cents a share in the year-ago period, while revenue rose to $20.7 billion from $20.21 billion in the year ago quarter. Reuters

U.S. stocks soared on Thursday, as the S&P 500 rose above 1,700 for the first time, and the Dow jumped nearly 150 points.

Investors will be keeping their eyes on earnings after the bell, as American International Group Inc (NYSE: AIG), LinkedIn Corp (NYSE: LNKD), Kraft Foods Group Inc (Nasdaq: KRFT) and more, report quarterly results.

American International Group Inc (NYSE: AIG) reports second-quarter results after the close, and analysts expect the company to post a smaller profit of 85 cents per share, compared to $1.33 per share in the year ago period, according to Zacks Investment Research. Revenue is expected drop to $8.62 billion for the quarter.

LinkedIn Corp (NYSE: LNKD) second-quarter earnings are forecast by Zacks to come in at 4 cents per share on revenue of$354 million. For the year, revenue is expected to be $1.50 billion.

Kraft Foods Group Inc (Nasdaq: KRFT) is estimated to report second-quarter earnings of 67 cents per share, according to Zacks. Earnings excluding items for the previous quarter came in at 76 cents a share, while revenue was $4.55 billion.

As of 12:36 p.m. Eastern, the Dow Jones industrial average gained 120.54 points or 0.78 percent, to 15,620.08. The S&P 500 rose 17.81 points or 1.06 percent, to 1,703.51. The Nasdaq Composite added 38.49 points or 1.06 percent, to 3,664.70.
