A magnitude-6.7 earthquake has been reported in Canada, on Vancouver Island. The quake hit at just after 12:30 PST on Friday afternoon, 173 miles from Vancouver.
Vancouver Island is Canada's second most populous island.
There is no word yet on whether there were any injuries. The coastal location of the quake raises some concern about the possibility of a tsunami, but no warning has been issued.
