The innovative Berkeley MBA program provides flexibility to customize according to goals or ambitions. Courses are rooted in scientific disciplines, so students learn fundamental principles of "how" and "why." Berkeley suggests that students can expect master fundamentals of management and leadership and build a framework in qualitative, analytic problem solving skills.
Teaching
Good teaching is a priority in program. Over the past several years, about two-thirds of the Haas School faculty members have regularly earned the highest status from student surveys.
Leadership Requirement Course
A required core course is designed to nurture confidence in students' leadership abilities. The course also includes a personalized 360-degree assessment of student leadership abilities. Additional core and elective courses, as well as special workshops, will help students gain insights into leadership and apply that learning in their own career development process.
Teams
Teams of students carry out many group projects. The school hopes that the small size of the MBA student body means that the learning experience is personalized and that strong connections develop between faculty and students, and among fellow students. A team-oriented culture teaches the lessons of working successfully with others to achieve objectives—a necessary skill in today's complex, fast-paced environment.
Students can choose from a wide variety of electives and dual degree offerings – from within the Haas School and from the wider university – as well as design courses of your own in conjunction with a faculty member.
