Terra Telecom, Inc. is a leading provider of state-of-the-art communications technologies. Terra Telecom also works with the United Nations, delivering voice products to several countries, and the Texas Dept. of Transportation, which may bring significant opportunities to EGPI Firecreek, Inc. through various ITS/DOT opportunities.

The college, with more than 30,000 students, is one of the largest and most innovative community colleges in the country. Employing over 400 full-time teachers and 700 part-time instructors, the college teaches courses in more than 60 subjects in five departments.

The college chose Terra Telecom, Inc. when they needed a vendor to partner with them to manage and improve their communications network. Terra works constantly with the college to improve the student experience. Terra uses a consultative approach, extensive technical experience, and skills in implementing voice solutions, IP, digital, and analog.

Mr. David Shepard, CTO of Terra Telecom, Inc. stated, “Our ongoing relationship with colleges and universities like this one demonstrate Terra’s ability to work in the most demanding and innovative environments on a global scale.”

The college currently has a network of over 3,000 phones, in three separate locations. Terra Telecom has improved the student interactions through efficient use of their 30-agent call center and IVR, which works in concert with the VoIP PBX phone system.

As they upgrade phones, Terra will provide the administrative staff and faculty the convenience of dialing by name using a QWERTY keyboard, while giving the IT staff improved management of the network via the VoIP PBX solution. The community college and Terra Telecom, Inc. look forward to emerging products and technologies to improve student life through communications.
