Screenshots from upcoming MMORPG Elder Scrolls Online set in the world of Skyrim leaked online on Friday, one day after the game was officially announced. The multiplayer online game will come out on Mac and PC computers in 2013. Check out the screenshots and concept art here.

The photos reveal impressive gameplay in which players will cooperate to take on a number of different enemies and explore massive worlds full of lush nature and new civilizations.

Game Informer broke the news that Elder Scrolls Online would offer players a mix of Skyrim's immersive world ripe for exploration with the massive scale and social elements that comes with an MMORPG on their website, teasing an upcoming June issue of the print magazine devoted to Elder Scrolls Online. Although Bethesda has revealed little about the actual game's plot, Game Informer has dropped a few juicy bits of information. The new game will feature an entirely new chapter of the Elder Scrolls history in a new world set a thousand years before the events of Skyrim. The story will the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull the world into a demonic realm, players will be able to explore all the regions of Tamriel.

It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years, game director and MMO veteran Matt Firor, told Game Informer. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made -- and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.

Videogame blog Dark Side of Gaming took it into their own hands to divulge a treasure trove of information regarding the new game, including details on gameplay, character choices and leveling, and game development. This included some positive information regarding different character options and leveling structure. However, the majority of the rumored news was a let down for gamers, and will hopefully prove to be untrue. This included claims that players would not be able to transform into zombies or werewolves, that there will be no dragons in the new game, that much of the map will be off limits, and that combat will not play out in real time. Instead it will be based on a stamina bar, allowing the player to sprint, block, interrupt or break incapacitating effects.

Videogame fans remain optimistic that the Elder Scrolls Online will be as amazing as Skyrim, and the new leaked screenshots and concept art are certainly another reason to believe that the new MMORPG.
