As metropolitan commuters look to save money on public transportation, Bioplanet, an electronic bicycle company, has introduced its latest innovation -- Bioplanet Bike.

Combining a uniquely designed bicycle with a bottom bracket integrated electric motor, the Bioplanet Bike introduces a new bicycle frame design with electric components which the company says “completely redefines what riders can do with their bikes.”

“Our Bike is the most versatile two-wheeled vehicle on the global market," Sandra Mikulic, Bioplanet's CEO, said in a statement.

The Bioplanet Bike comes equipped with a 9-speed twist shifter, front and rear 180mm hydraulic brakes, aluminum alloy wheels, selected tires and an integrated electric motor -- a powerful and reliable brushless DC electric motor integrated in the bicycle's bottom bracket.

According to Bioplanet, Bike is equipped with power assistance whereas geared motors help you when pedaling uphill. The end result is a dual-geared motor that allows riders to pedal and to have motor power simultaneously.

The Greenpath electronic folding bike uses lithium ion re-chargeable batteries, the same as those in laptop computers, and re-charge in only a couple of hours. Additionally, fully or partially charged lithium ion batteries loose only 2-3% of their charge per month when not in use. The average battery life is 3-5 years based on 500-1000 charges.
