Daytime host Ellen DeGeneres has put down a whopping $12 million so that she can own the Malibu home that once belonged to hunky actor Brad Pitt.

People.com reported that DeGeneres complete the transaction on Friday, finalizing the purchase.

Pitt's former Malibu home is said to be a coastal property, overlooking the Pacific Ocean with private beach access. The home is said to have separate homes, a pool, a tennis court and gardens, according to People.com.

The report also noted that the DeGeneres' new home is smaller than the 15,000-square foot Beverly Hills home she and her wife, Portia De Rossi, recently put up for sale for a reported $49 million, as it is 4,000-square feet.

We never had a house when I was growing up, Ellen said as reported by Access Hollywood. We always rented. But my father would dream, and we used to look at houses all the time. I'd pick out which bedroom would be mine and get all excited.

The first thing I did when I made money was buy a house, DeGeneres added.
