Emilio Masella said he did not mean to say that his rumored-to-be-pregnant ex Snooki should have a miscarriage, and that he's gotta get, like, a bulletproof vest now. People are, like, after my throat, after reports that he made the offensive statement emerged Monday.

TMZ.com posted a story at 1 Monday morning alleging that Masella told the site, I hope for her sake ... not to be rude or anything ... but I hope she has a miscarriage.

But Masella told the WBLI 106.1 radio station on Long Island Monday afternoon that he did not really use the word miscarriage, and that he received threats Monday from people who had been offended by the TMZ story:

I wake up this morning and ... I'm like, 'Oh my god they used the word 'miscarriage,' that's so horrible, Masella said. They're like, 'so what do you think about Snooki being pregnant?' And I'm like, you know what? First of all I really hope she's not pregnant, whether it be a defective pregnancy test, she was drunk and she read the thing wrong, or, like, it's just a huge publicity stunt. Like, I never meant for her to, like, miscarry. That's horrible. I just said I hope she does not have a child. She's way too young, especially with filming and partying, like, how's she gonna manage to have a child?

But the denial doesn't seem to be doing Emilio Masella much good, as he said Nicole Snooki Polizzi's lawyers have issued a cease-and-desist order demanding that he stop speaking about his ex-girlfriend's rumored pregnancy.

Masella told WBLI that he has been under heavy fire for the alleged remarks to TMZ: People are like, 'Oh my god, kill yourself, how could you wish a miscarriage? He added that I gotta get, like, a bulletproof vest now, suggesting he is fearing for his life.

He told the radio station that he does believe Snooki, who recently became engaged, according to People magazine, will definitely be a good mother if she had kids, I dont think she's just ready for kids at this point in her life.

People are flipping out just because I'm honest. Like, come on, if you ask these people, like, in the world, 'like, do you really think she's ready for a child? Come on, all you see of her is drinking and partying, that is not a way -- do you what I mean?

He also told WBLI something that is bound to anger feminists in his defense: I know how traumatizing it is for women to have a miscarriage. But he's being a gentleman when it comes to discussing who might be the father of any Snooki child. I'm not gonna say anything, I'm just gonna plead the fifth.

What's Emilio Masella going to do to cleanse himself after this ordeal? I'm gonna go to church right now, he told the radio station.

E! Online's reliable reporter Marc Malkin broke the news last Wednesday that Snooki is reportedly pregnant with boyfriend Jionni LaValle's baby:

She's about three to four months along, a source told Malkin, who could not get a comment from Snooki's P.R. people.

And Jersey City baby store Bambi Baby seemed to confirm that rumor last Friday, when it told TMZ.com that 495 Productions, the company behind Jersey Shore, reportedly asked its owners for permission to film there a couple of weeks ago. Snooki became famous as one of the stars of the hit MTV show.
