Actress Emma Roberts, 22, was arrested on charges of domestic violence against boyfriend Evan Peters, 26, earlier this month. Surprisingly, it was her “American Horror Story” co-star and boyfriend who was spotted consoling her.

According to a report from TMZ, Roberts was seen crying into the arms of Peters on the set of the hit FX series in New Orleans Tuesday. Photographs obtained by the site show Roberts visibly distraught and in tears; another shows Peters kissing her head. Prior to the news of her arrest, Roberts was photographed Sunday sporting visible bruising on her legs and a bandage on her left elbow.

According to sources the couple is still together despite reports that Roberts, niece of Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, was arrested for acts of domestic violence against Peters in Canada on July 7. TMZ reported Tuesday that Peters suffered from a bloody nose and a bite mark but refused to press charges after Montreal law enforcement responded to a call of a fight in their hotel room. Sources revealed that the pair was allegedly hitting each other, but other sources deny Roberts bit the actor.

“It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding,” said a rep in joint statement released to People magazine Wednesday on behalf of both actors. “Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple was working together to move past it.”

TMZ reported that Roberts spent the night in jail following the arrest but was released hours later. According to Us Weekly, the twosome began dating in 2012 after meeting on the set of the comedy “Adult World.”
