The Lyons have finally returned to Fox and it won’t be a pretty sight. “Empire” Season 3, episode 10 of the Fox series kicked off with a bang and plenty of drama to surround the famous music family.

In “Sound & Fury,” Lucious (Terrence Howard) introduces his new project “Inferno” which Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) accuses him of creating because Jamal (Jussie Smollett) is in rehab and he feels threatened by his son’s musical talent.

Cookie then confronts Lucious about his attack on Angelo (Taye Diggs), which took place during the fall finale, saying that she doesn’t appreciate him playing when it comes to airing out a person’s past. Lucious then tells Cookie he doesn’t play, he goes to war.

“You want war Cookie? Fire a shot,” Luscious says, to which she replies “Get Ready.” Moments later, while Lucious is taking the stage to talk about “Inferno,” Cookie brings his mother Leah (Leslie Uggams) to the stage letting everyone know that despite him telling people that she committed suicide, she is alive and well.

Later on, in the Empire boardroom, Andre (Trai Byers) and Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) argue over who will get a spot in an upcoming showcase, Nessa (Sierra McClain) or Tiana (Serayah McNeil). When Lucious finds out Cookie already approved Tiana, he decides the spot will go to Nessa.

Cookie, Hakeem and Andre then make a trip to see Jamal in rehab where they meet singer Tory Ash (Rumer Willis). When Lucious shows up so the family can talk, Jamal reveals he is ready to go home but he can’t finish his plea because Lucious and Cookie get into a huge argument.

Lucious later learns that Tariq (Morocco Omari) is building a case against him for his hand in Frank Gather’s (Chris Rock) murder. Lucious thinks it is his old friend Bam Bam who could be the star witness for the case and asks Thirsty (Andre Royo) to investigate.

Andre meets up with Shyne (Xzibit) where he confirms that he still wants to kill Lucious and wants his help in taking over Empire. Lucious then holds a press conference where he endorses another candidate for mayor and offers a $300,000 reward that will lead to Angelo’s conviction for his hand in the death of a young woman.

In rehab, Tory and Jamal bond over their love for music and Tory suggests that they chase the music. Meanwhile, Nessa is performing at the Empire showcase when Hakeem and Tiana cut off her mic and steal the spotlight to perform. Nessa’s mic eventually comes back on but she’s so mad over the ambush that she gets into an all out brawl with Tiana.

While at the showcase Cookie and Lucious learn that Jamal is missing from rehab and they head to see Jamal’s ex-boyfriend D-Major thinking he may have left rehab to be with him.

Cookie and Lucious eventually find Jamal and Tory in the old studio Lucious used to record his music in. The two walk in as Jamal and Tory are recording and agree to let them finish their song.

Later on, Lucious gets Thirsty, who is supposed to be helping Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) get back at Xavier (Samuel Hunt) for talking down to her at work, to kidnap Bam Bam’s elderly mother from her nursing home and they show up at his job. Lucious explains to Bam Bam that if he wants to keep his mother’s life comfortable, he will say whatever it takes in front of a grand jury to make sure Lucious is found innocent of Frank’s murder.

Cookie and Jamal have a heart-to-heart at her home where he promises that he is done with drugs and calls her love with Lucious sick and twisted.

Although Becky initially thought Thirsty didn’t help her, he actually got Xavier fired by telling Lucious that he was accepting gifts from a radio station. Becky thinks this will allow her to become the head of A&R for the company, however, Lucious announces that Anika (Grace Byers) will take on the role, a move that angers Cookie.

Later that night, Cookie returns to the office and begins destroying the various awards Lucious received over the years and even hits Lucious with a bat angered that he has taken advantage of her professionally.

After accusing Lucious of trying to erase her the two begin to passionately kiss but Cookie stops things before they go any further. “I said I was done with you, I meant that,” Cookie tells Lucious. Is she really done with Lucious? Only time will tell.
