Empire
On “Empire” Season 4, episode 2 Cookie (Taraji P.Henson) reveals her struggle to deal with her family’s arising problems to Uncle Eddy (Forest Whitaker). FOX

Despite finally being on decent terms with one another, the Lyon clan is still struggling to hold their family together as Lucious tries to remember his life before the explosion. Facing the reality that he may not be proud of the man he once was, on “Empire” Season 4, episode 2, Lucious seeks help from an old friend.

“With Leah (Leslie Uggams) still insisting that he is a monster, Lucious (Terrence Howard) sneaks away in hopes of finding out what type of person he was before the explosion,” the synopsis for “Full Circle” teases.

In a sneak peek of the Fox series, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) can be seen entering Lucious’ home with a team of movers carting her belongings. Claudia (Demi Moore) then jumps up from the couch insisting that she intends on helping Lucious recover and Cookie doesn’t need to be concerned about him.

However, Cookie reveals that she isn’t worried because she is moving in to supervise Claudia’s work. Cookie explains that Lucious means everything to her and her children and they need the old him back. With Cookie moving into the mansion, could Lucious feel overwhelmed by the presence of his past?

In episode 1, Lucious learned that he wasn’t a good person prior to losing his memory, but now it looks like the pressure to remember the person he used to be is becoming too much to handle.

“Cookie panics that Lucious has gone missing on Claudia’s watch until she realizes he found his way to Uncle Eddie (Forest Whitaker), a music icon who has since become family to the Lyons,” the synopsis for “Empire” Season 4, episode 2 says.

In a sneak peek of “Full Circle,” Uncle Eddie tells Cookie that Lucious doesn’t remember him and forces her to come clean about his brain injury. Cookie also reveals that because of Lucious’ memory loss, they will have to start liquidating the company to stay afloat.

However, Uncle Eddie tells Cookie that she needs to gather all of the artists on the label and continue to create music, because that’s what the old Lucious would have wanted.

“Meanwhile, with Anika (Grace Byers) still behind bars, Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) and Tiana (Serayah) grow more comfortable as a family,” the synopsis for the Fox series states. Although Tiana was hesitant about being in Hakeem’s life after he had a daughter, the singer has formed a bond with the baby.

In the promo for the upcoming season, Hakeem is seen opening his door to find Anika standing there as Tiana holds Bella in the background. A photo from the upcoming episode features Tiana smiling and holding Bella while Hakeem watches. Although things seem to be good, happiness for any member of the Lyon family usually comes at a price.

“Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) makes a rash decision regarding Jamal’s (Jussie Smollett) new song,” the synopsis teases. In another sneak peek, Becky tells Jamal that she is stressed about being the interim head of A&R until Cookie finds someone to replace her.

Although Jamal assures her that there is a good chance Cookie won’t find a replacement for the job, it’s clear that Becky doesn’t want to lose her position of power, and may be willing to do anything to keep her spot on top, even if it means going against the wishes of her superiors.

“Empire” Season 4, episode 2 airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
