An experimental England side were 1-0 winners against Sweden for the first time in 43-years at the Wembley Stadium in London.

On the back of a morale boosting victory over world champions Spain, England were solid and came close to scoring on more occasions than one.

Eventually, Gareth Barry's first half header was inadvertently turned into his own net by Daniel Majstorovic, which proved to be England's 2,000th goal along with being the winner.

Jack Rodwell could have added gloss to the score-line but his close-range header came back off the post late in the game. Bobby Zamora and Phil Jones also came close in a disciplined England win.
