Monday, a report by the Bank of Estonia said the current account deficit stood at EEK3.3 billion in the fourth quarter, narrowing from a EEK4.61 billion deficit in the third quarter. The central bank said the current account deficit was the lowest in three years.

In the fourth quarter, the goods and services deficit widened to EEK2.47 billion from EEK1.76 billion in the third quarter. At the same time, the income account deficit narrowed to EEK2.48 billion from EEK3.5 billion in the previous quarter.

On the other hand, the surplus in the current transfers account increased to EEK1.63 billion from EEK0.65 billion surplus in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, in the capital account, the surplus rose to EEK1.19 billion from EEK0.52 billion surplus in the third quarter. At the same time, the surplus in the financial account increased to EEK7.52 billion from EEK 3.58 billion in the previous quarter.
