EU Wants Banking Union From 2013
The European Union has announced plans to form a single banking regulator to oversee the member states.
The new regulator, which has been proposed in the wake of the European sovereign debt and banking crisis, could be up and running as early as 2013, with a timetable for the plan due to be discussed at a European Council meeting on June 28-29 in Brussels, according to the BBC.
