Euro Area Confidence drop in April

The euro area confidence in April dropped as rising inflation and uncertainty amid debt woes and ECB tightening weighed on the sentiment in the nations sharing the euro.

The consumer confidence was revised again lower in the Final estimate for April to -11.6 from -11.4 and the previous was also revised to -10.6.

The business climate indicator dropped to 1.28 from the previous 1.41 revised to 1.43 and below the expected 1.40.

Economic confidence declined to 106.2 from the previous 107.3 and below the expected 107.0; meanwhile, industrial confidence and services confidence both dropped to 5.8 and 10.4 from a revised 6.7 from 6.6 and 10.8 respectively.
