The euro extended losses on Monday, hitting its lowest levels against the dollar and the yen in two weeks as a fall in stocks and oil prices increased risk aversion.

The euro EUR= fell more than 1 percent on the day to $1.4053 according to Reuters data, its lowest since late July.

Against the yen, the euro EURJPY=R tumbled 1.3 percent to 132.96 yen, its weakest since the end of last month.
